Hello, I'm Lucy, aged 13 years old and I live on Dartmoor, in Devon. This is a blog about my hamsters, what they get up to, helpfull tips on hamster care, and (hopefully) following the life of some baby hamsters as the grow up. I have had many hamsters before, and even had a taste of breeding them. I love my hamsters and try my very best to give them the best life possible, and I truely belive they love me in return.

Rescue
I am currently thinking about maybe taking in a few unwanted rodents along the lines, and rehoming them to caring and loving forever homes after recently having my eyes opended to the amount of unwanted or badly cared for hamsters, rats, gerbils, mice ect ect that just end up dieing of neglect, or as snake food. This has made me seriously think about my decisions to breed. Firstly, would I find homes for all the babies? Secondly, I wouldn't like to think that the babies would take away a possible home for a poor little rescue hamster. I have had this thought nagging on my mind for ages now, and I have finnally came to the conclusion that maybe I should to begin to take in some hamsters or other small rodents such as rats, gerbils or mice, that desparatly a home, and rehome them or keep them myself. If anybody knows of any such animals please email me or respond to this post, thanks. Just to let you know, I may still breed Midnight and Honey, but, if I do, that will most likley be the last litter I ever breed.

Honey's Escape
I'm sorry that I have not posted in a while (lost my camera + have been verry busy) but I have made a short little storybord like tale from Honey's mouth about her little 'escape' (although it wasn't really an escape as I was there all the time, but I let her think so :P)
"Ooh look there's Lucy, maybe she's coming to get me out of here!" |
"What's this? An open door? And where did Lucy go?" |
"Hmmm... maybe, just maybe, I could escape from here?" |
"Ahh, here we go, up we get!" |
"Nearly there! Must. Keep. Going. Freedom. Need." |
